My first foray into Weekend Writing Warriors’ #8sunday

I discovered Weekend Writing Warriors several months ago and always meant to participate, but somehow the information got buried under my rapidly multiplying to-do lists. Luckily, while straightening up my desk, I rediscovered this gem and decided to seize the moment.

So here are my eight sentences from So Wills the Heart. I chose these because they encapsulate Jonathan and Evie’s relationship, which often vacillates between playful teasing and red-hot passion.

“Evie, Evie, let me in.”

She giggled from the other side of the door. “Not by the hair of my chinny chin chin.”

“Ew, chin hair?” Jonathan feigned a sound of disgust. “Sorry, I don’t do chicks with facial hair. That’s just…ew!”

He was trying not to laugh when she threw open the door, the scowl on her face indicating that she was ready to do battle.

    1. Thanks, Charli. Evie and Jonathan were really fun characters throughout the story – one of those stories that I didn’t want to finish because I had so much fun with them.

    1. Thanks! I am hoping wewriwa will keep me moving forward with my writing (already working on next week’s snippet).

  1. Cute banter between them! I like how playful their relationship seems to be. Nicely done!
